I've just bought a HTC car charger model number CLM10D-050 for my Desire. When I plug it into the phone it seems very tight and has to be pushed quite hard to get it in unlike the mains charger that slides in easily. Is this normal? I bought it off ebay so am paranoid its a fake or something! Plus no one else describes this charger as being compatible with the Desire but say it's for older HTC models. The stated output is fine at 5v 1a, just a bit concerned about the tight connection.

Mine's the same to be honest. Quite a 'snug' fit but seems to do the job and have had no problems so far.

I believe mine cost £1.99 from some independent retailer.

Does yours look like an 'r' with a red light on the top?.

No, mine actually says HTC on it, it's this one

Thanks for the reply, it's reassuring to know yours is snug too, I've got this phone for 2 years so don't want to break it!
