Hi,

I am after a car holder for my Desire.  There seem to be dozens out there but I am a little uncertain about the quality and fit of them.  The official HTC holder is not out yet and is looking rather expensive at about £60.
I have had a look at Brodit ones and they seem well built but I am concerned about mounting the phone on an air vent, particularly in winter with hot air blowing out onto the back of the Desire.

Are there any other recommendations?  Any comments would be most welcome, thank you Smiley

Is that the only place you can mount it with a Brodit one??, i have looked at getting one and they do about 4 for my Vauxhall Astra to fit in various places.

They do a centre mount but I think that puts the phone too low down, particularly if using the Sat Nav features.  Will have a further look, thanks.

You want some good holders go over to 4U-Mobi.com.  They have some real sweet looking ones, haven't tried them personally though.

I bought a windscreen mount holder a month or two back and have used it enough to know that I'm very satisfied with it.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B003JLLGF0/ref=ox_ya_os_product

I was a little worried because it's cheap (>£10), but it works a treat and leaves the only problem being how to route you power cable to the ciggy lighter (personally, I used black cable tie sticky pads  Wink ).

EDIT: I too would be wary of mounting an already hot running Desire over the air vents.

The potential heat problem concerned me.
I ended up going for a Clingo mount, it is not Desire specific but works well so far.  Time will tell how well it lasts and cleans up when it loses its stickiness.

Try one of these German made by Herbert Richter. I use the Banana Holder and it's very solid and superbly made, highly recommended.

Hows it going, just ordered one after reading some positive reviews, was thinking the arm looked long but got a Leon so screen is quite slanted giving a deep dashboard.

I use the Brodit and I had no problem with heating (mini couper). I must admit that HTC accessories that is made for HTC are a lot better then others

Well, this thread is a bit older, so you've probably long since bought a phone holder.
I recently bought a Dash Genie. You can put it basically anywhere and it doesn't need to be permanently fixed. Workes via suction cup and clip and holds the phone securely upright or sideways.

I did a little research and found an interesting offer of HTC Desire Car Holders (and other interesting HTC accessories). Hope this comes in handy!

I am using KiDIGi car cradle for my Desire, have been using it for a while and very satisfied, i can place it wherever i want, and since it is designed specifically for Desire device, i never experienced any problems, inconvience, or my phones weird behaviours with it!!!
