Hi...

Just wanted to share some news about a (very cheap) way I have found to use your own headphones with the HTC Desire. The stock headphones for me don't fit well and are not noise cancelling so needed a good solution.

Have now bought and tested the Griffin SmartTalk adapter with the Desire and it works brilliantly!!! For only £4 you can now use your own headphones with the SmartTalk to take calls handsfree (mic included) answer and end calls. Plus start, pause and skip tracks within the music player.

There is no full inline remote (so no volume control), just a single button that works as follows:
Phone ringing: Single press to answer calls
During call: Single press to end call
During standby: Single press to start stock music player from last stopped location
During music playback: single press to pause the currently playing track
During music playback: double click to skip to next track.

FURTHERMORE: The SmartTalk and my headphones also still work as a great FM Radio Receiver (antenna) and the performance is at least as good (if not better) than the stock headphones (tested on my daily commute by train into London).

For Info:
Griffin SmartTalk homepage here: http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/smarttalk
To buy SmartTalk go here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Griffin-Smarttalk-Headphone-Adapter-Control/dp/B0014AVAPO

Says it is for iPhone but works very well with stock HTC Desire (and Froyo 2.2) on Orange.

(NO.... I do not work for Griffin or Amazon - Totally unbiased opinion).  Cool

Just thought you may all like to know. And sorry if this is old news...  Undecided

P.S - I am using (nothing special) Panasonic in-ear headphones bought a couple of years ago for around £30... sound quality is surprisingly excellent.

Cheers, J.

While I appreciate your enthusiasm, I'd really wish that you don't post all over the place regarding the same topic... =.=

Still, nice find.

I think I'd own these a little longer before endorsing them so energetically. The average review seems to indicate that they'll disintegrate in a few weeks. Still, a nice price though.  Wink
