I bought my HTC Desire in August. Since that moment, I have had multiple serious issues with it. Want to check if there are other people facing the same issues.
After 3 weeks of time, by screen wasn't working properly anymore. At random moments, it would completely become black, although it wasn't locked. Putting pressure on the sides resulted in a working display. However at the end, there were more times with black display than with normal display. I brought the phone back to the shop, they took it for repair and two weeks later, I got my phone back with the note no fault found. However the same day, the issue happened again to me (before you ask, even when factory resetting the phone, the issues still happened).
Came in contact with HTC support desk and after redoing all the resets etc (AGAIN) HTC support decided to come and pick up the phone. Great service (picked it up at my work, brought it back, 1 week in between...). After this repair, the phone came back with a new IMEI, so I guess they changed the internals of the phone in order to repair it.
IN the period after (November --> January), following items went wrong with the phone:
- flash light didn't work when it had to work (dark picture taking / flash light application). But strangely enough, once in a while, when using the phone for e.g. mail reading, there was a flash of the flash light (a few times a week).
- Headphones weren't detected anymore
- when activating the camera, I just got a black screen. No camera image, nor camera controls.
In contact again with HTC support, again the whole story of factory resetting, etc, and finally again for repair. One week later, phone back, phone working again.
Guess what, over the past weeks, the flash light started acting weird again (no flashlight when it should, and flashlight when it shouldn't be there), and since this week, also the camera + headphones don't work anymore...
For the third time in contact with HTC support now.
Did anybody of you also face this/these issues.
As a consumer I'm very pleased with the design/UI of the device, but honestly, with all the issues I face, I cannot recommend this phone to anybody, which is a pity I think.
