In all fairness, Reddwarf ... the C905 is an exceptional phone.  I'm still not sure wether to put the Desire or the C905 on #1 of my "best phones ever" list.  So picking a C905 over an X10 is easy.
I agree xsaenen, she has always loved that phone, but the point I was making is I tried so hard to put her off the X10 but to no avail, so when she finally got it and realised that it was rubbish she had to give it away. If she had got the Desire then she would be as content as i've been.

Ah, well... No wheat in my country. Staple food is rice, and you can't really run around paddy fields. Knee-deep in mud and water, snakes...

But the Desire is a bit too large... would prefer one that actually fits into the hand Wink

Nice touch though. Very nice Smiley

No... I want the phone to be smaller. I like my hands the way they are now. Just nice for my guitar and bass, although a little too short. Having fat fingers like that will make it harder for me to use touchscreens...

Correct, it's officially the "Bravo Desire", as "Bravo" is the original Desire's internal codename at HTC.  Not too sure where this Vanilla thing came from

So the lineup : Bravo Desire, Desire HD (codenamed : HTC Ace), Desire Z.
Let's make a point about using these names correctly please.  Those who spent some time here will know which phone you mean if you mention "the vanilla", but many new people won't.

Well, when I'm talking about the "Bravo" Desire, people ask me if it is a new model... But truly, when I say vanilla, someone comes along and mentions the ROM... Let me clarify something for you.

There's no vanilla ROM. There's the AOSP ROM, there's the Sense-based ROM, and there's the MIUI-based ROM. They are all delicious and is in no way related to the flavour vanilla, which quite delicious in itself but lacks the real kick of a customized ROM. True vanilla ROM will those that based on the original Google kernel, which IMO is extinct circa Cyanogen 6.0 and is on the verge of being resurrected with Gingerbread. So, yes, it "looks" vanilla, but if you've seen the tweaks CM, DF and (lately) O2 have done with their ROMs, you should never think that they are "vanilla", more like rum and raisins. And I believe that nobody is running a really vanilla 2.2 ROM, with nothing done to the kernel, no tweaks, no root and so on.

So, when I mention "vanilla" in a thread discussing two different phones, surely I mean the good ole' Desire...

This is what I get when I try to please the mob crowd, on one hand the pros know Bravo, Ace, Z and whatnot but the not-so-geeky people will probably ask me if they should upgrade to the newest "Bravo" handset...

Yes, rant-ish post, but in a good way Wink

Sold my POS X10 for half the price that I paid for it because it literally pissed me off with all it's issue (weak speaker, hangs or reboots by itself, Android 1.6, etc etc etc) I really wanted to get the Nexus One but the X10 was cheaper and seem to out perform the N1 but I was wrong, so darn wrong and it cost me a lot of money

So as a former X10 user and now a very very very happy Desire owner, I can honestly say that Desire is so much better than the X10, I suggest that you get the Desire or the Nexus One.

No I don't get paid to endorse the Desire, I'm just keepin it real  Wink
