Hello,

I had broken my digitizer. I bought a new one and replaced it. Phone works fine except touch screen which works very hard. I have to touch screen for 1-2 seconds to press some key, and it doesn't work on whole surface only bottom is responding. My old digitizer is identical to new one with one exception the big letters are "E2" and on the new one i have "G2" is this a problem or maybe there is some calibration tool to correct this.

Thank for any advice.

Either the new digitizer is faulty or the wrong type.  However there also is the option that the digitizer doesn't make proper contact or that the rest of the phone also got damaged in the fall.  It's really hard to tell.

Open up the phone again and check the connections.  If they're ok, you could try to order yet another digitizer and hope for the best or you could send the phone in for repairs (which is what I would have suggested in the first place).

Thanks for reply,

The phone is OK, i switched again to the old touchscreen and it works like it should except the place where it is broken. The connection must be ok because there is response from digitizer and connection between phone is digital so it is either working or not. I hoped that there is some sort of low level software on rooted phones which is able to setup working parameters of this touchscreen. I think i will buy digitizer from another supplier and see what's happens:)

ok, so in that case the problem lies with the new digitizer.

Unfortunately I haven't found info on particular types, as HTC doesn't release parts lists of every component in the phone, so it's impossible to tell if the new one is faulty or simply incompatible.

I connected phone thru adb-shell and run getenv and see that events from touchscreen were comming correctly. So digitizer is working and now are there any low level programs to calibrate it like ts_calibrate or it's just not compatible and i have to buy another one, but how can I find the correct one?
