I recently got an update for my desire, I'm wondering what the update was about? Doesn't seem to be anything major....

I opted to accept the update but when the phone powered off and reloaded  it shows a red warning triangle.  I had very little spare memory, so I assume this is the problem.  Is there any way to recover from this?

edit:  The phone wasn't responding to any key or touch so I decided to remove the battery.  The phone restarted OK, but I've no idea whether the update completed or not.  Does anyone know what the new version number is?

I also have this red triangle but I had at least 50mb spare and the update was just over 20mb.

I will be calling O2 before I start pulling batteries out.
Jeez this winds me up!! Two updates and twice I've had problems.

I didn't get it, but if there's nothing of any note in it that's new and it keeps giving me red triangles of death, then I'm happy to not have it.

Mikentl,
I have exactly the same details that you reported for the update but I still cannot figure out what it does. what has improved? what bugs fixed? The downside was that the update would only install & run after i had un-installed some apps to give more memory space. so I now lost those apps , have the update but looks like a waste of time to me.

I have two problems which do not appear to have been fixed
1. In MAIL: "Always bcc me" keeps unchecking itself. No change with the new update. I posted separately on this 3 wks ago (read 149 times)  but nobody has come up with any suggestions.

2. In CONTACTS: still no ability to file as "Company (Last Name, First Name" so my phone is still unable to show me details of hundreds of hotels, restuarants, shops,  plumbers, dentists, painters, etc unless I put the company or restuarant  name into the Last Name field which is going to screw up  thousands of entries  of mine in OUTLOOK. I know there is a work-around using the App "Contacts Plus" but why on earth can't they fix the wretched software properly in the first place?

I had hoped to find a few solutions on this forum.

To be honest, Andrew, I'm finding this forum less and less helpful. So many other threads that ask good questions just simply go unanswered.

More's the pity. Sad

I had the same problem, I have a unlocked HTC Desire on the 3 Network, I had the same problem with the red Triangle and contacted HTC on their forum, they where as good as useless, they said that I had to delete the update file and try again, I asked what the file name was and they said it was called update.zip I said that it did not exist! I found it myself it was call Frojoupdate*** anyway I deleted it and got the same fault as before, I then got back to them and was told that they would be putting a replacement update up in a couple of weeks.  I don't think I'll bother with updating it, if it's working ok leave it alone, after all you cant give any more memory up to update the phone it already has a small internal memory when compared to newer handsets
