Hi,
I have an unlocked Desire HD with Rogers data plan. When I enable mobile network, I see only 'E' symbol instead of the preferred '3G'. Could any one help me in this regard?

TIA.

Kranthi.

I think that's fine. You may expect to see H as well

My Desire on Orange only displayed "G". Orange sent me a new Sim and I can now get 3G and HSPDA

I have checked with Rogers.. They mention that it might be a problem with the handset as they have no complaints with users of other smart phones like iPhone and BB..

The Desire is known to have some difficulties with reception.  Yours may not get a strong enough signal in your area to use the "proper" 3G network, which is why it could use a slower one instead.

Does it ever use 3G in other areas?

Nope... I never got 3G signal in neither my home or office.. Where as my colleagues in my workplace who are co-seated get 3G on their iPhones...
