I just made a little one minute video (first time).  The file was 10Megabytes and took for ever to upload to YouTube.  Is this normal?

Plus the sound was very faint.

Are you uploading via 3G or WiFi?

Also what resolution was it shot in?.

WiFi
and wvga 800 x 480.  I should try qvga?

APP?  I just hit the double arrow icon and select youtube under "Share via".  Is there a better way?

Only ever uploaded to Facebook myself, and that was using an 3rd party app to upload the video.

Maybe there is a 3rd party app?.

Or could just be one of those 'congested days' for uploading...bottleneck.

It took the best part of an hour as it kept aborting and restarting.

It might be traffic, or perhaps my slow-ish DSL connection.

Andy, looks like its 768k (per my phone bill). So a 10.3 Megabyte file will take, um, um, divide by carry the number take away,  less than an hour, I'll be bound.

well upload and download speeds are normally very different. e.g. i have 500kB p/s dl, but only ~45kB p/s upload. truth is, it depends. on your connection, as well as on youtube, why not put the file on your computer and try to upload it there?

Anyway, connections speeds on wireless also depends a lot on the quality of the signal to the towers.

First of all, I'd like to thank everyone who has helped me in this thread.  I will over the next few days, do the things y'all suggested and see if that improves matters. 

The cell signal here is very poor, which is why I WiFi, at least from home. 

If anyone gives a hoot, the video I put up was of my cat.  He has these coughing spells and I wanted the vet to listen to him.  Of course, he never coughs at the vet's office, contrary beast!  (Search for ginger coughing raputtak).
