Hey guys.

Just rooted for the first time with Leeroid. Everything seems to have.gone ok. Final reboot. Phone starts and loads (r2d2 is awesome).
The issue is now that my SD won't pick up. Keeps coming up with "safe to dismount SD".
Have gone into settings but won't let me mount card.

When I boot into green & black recovery, can see the.SD.
But I cannot get to partition stage.

Ideas please?
P.s. an SD symbol with refresh circle shows in top left corner status bar.

I finally plucked up the courage to root my Desire but it's not working.

I installed the HBOOT drivers, downloaded and ran the latest unrevoked (3.32), it starts doing its thing, gets to "Running root..." then fails with:

"Error: Failed to get root. Is your firmware too new?"

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Later...

I tried a factory reset and it allowed unrevoked to complete so I thought I'd leave this here in case it helps someone else one day.

Thanks for a great guide, now to try to install Leedroid...

... which went exactly as described. Many thanks.

indeed great help Smiley thanks for the trick! Smiley

I have one quick question. I did rooting using unrevoked, but I would like to upgrade ROM to Android 2.3 ... can somebody give a hint please. Thank You

Good to hear that you rooted it OK but I disagree, the disclaimer and warnings are absolutely vital. You are immediately voiding your warranty and it is quite possible to 'brick' your phone if it goes wrong so anyone writing such a guide would be daft not to cover themselves, legally if not morally. It's not for the faint-hearted or inexperienced.

It is certainly necessary to state the fact around the risks - warranty as well as bricking the phone. But the guide keeps emphasizing that fact quite often. Actually when I read the post first, I didn't even complete it fully. I am neither faint-hearted nor an amateur. I have been working on UNIX systems for at least 10 years now and service my PCs on my own, botth h/w and s/w issues. Still, I cannot afford to brick or void the warrant of a costly phone. The guide looked as if the chances are 50:50, that I may end up with issues. XSaenen did comfort me, with a positive response, in one occasion when I was asking in another thread on low storage issues.

Anyway, that's just my suggestion.

unrevoked keeps saying "Internal error: installing package failed.", even though I have 100 Mb free internal memory & almost gig free in my SD.

Is there any other method than unrevoked to root my Desire, or do I have to use some other Recovery image.

Hi all, I have an HTC Desire that belongs to a friend. The phone was locked to the Orange network and he tried to run an unlock on the handset so he could use an alternative network (unfortunately I don't have much more info than that). All seemed to go well apparently until the phone rebooted and it now it only switches on to either the white HTC screen or holding the power and volume down buttons we can get into the boot menu.

In H Boot it says...

SD checking...
loading...PB99DIAG.ZIP no image!
PP99DIAG.nbh no image or wrong image!
PP99IMG.ZIP no image!
PP99IMG.nbh no image or wrong image!

I have tried formatting a new card (fat32) in my pc and installing RUU_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.29.405.5_Radio_32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_159811_signed.exe and renaming it PB99IMG.ZIP and rebooted but still no change. I have also tried to  run via recovery but when I select recovery it goes back to the white HTC screen.

Unfortunately there is no back up to put back on.

I followed the instructions to make a goldcard using another android handset thinking that may help but without the options in recovery I am stuck. Any ideas will be gratefully received as I have spent hours looking on the web and cannot find out how I can fix this. Thank you.

Hmm, good question. I think all u need is s-off, as root is basicly admin rights to ur rom. But better do it anyway.

Sent from my HTC Desire with Tapatalk Red because my XDA Premium app is beeing a female dog!
