Hi Everyone, hope someone can help.
I have received a SMS containing a vCard. If I touch the vCard it says 'imported vCard successfully' I have searched my phonebook in people and the contact is not there. I don't know where else to look. Can someone please advise where it has imported this contact or how I can look at the contact details. Many thanks.

Not sure where the imported vCard is stored so you could try going to People, tapping Menu then View and making sure you have everything ticked.

If the imported details are then shown, go through each of the options under view unticking one at a time until the details disappear and then you will know where the items are imported to.

Hope this helps.

You know, it really discourages me that people don't realize what Google.com is famous for. Searching. And what kind of phone you are holding on your hands? Android? Right... and there's a HUGE Google logo stuck on the back. Oh, you're using a case, like me. No worries mate.

First, look at the lower right corner of your phone, and tell me what button is there. Can you see a magnifying glass? Good. Press it.

Now, it might sound daunting and intimidating for you, but you can SEARCH for the contact you just added.

Btw, it's probably stuck in the phone contacts...

If you search in Google you will find many references (dating back to February 2010) to the fact that the SMS import of Vcards is actually broken on the HTC Desire running android 2.1 - it only works properly from MMS messages.  The import creates an unnamed entry in the "google" contacts list with no attributes against any field at all.  Easily replicated on my phone.  There is a free android app called VcardIO that will capture and import incoming vcards (tested and verified on my phone) but you dont get the choice of where it saves it - it appears to be always to the "google" contacts list (personally I would have preferred to pass it to my Exchange account but thats a different issue).  The other "workaround" is to start to forward the vcard sms, and the screen will show all the vard details (encoded as a vcard) so you can at least get access to those details.  Hope that helps.  More importantly, Im hoping that froyo fixes the issue - does anyone happen to know?
