I have 2 email addresses for a contact, I use Outlook to sync to, one of them is an old address that I have removed from Outlook but it will not remove from the phone, it is also marked as Primary. I cannot find where to delete it on the phone.

Open the "People" app
scroll to the contact and select it
scroll down and select "edit"
tick the X button next to the mail address you want to delete.

The address below the one you deleted will now be the primary

Here is the wacky thing about that with the "X" there is none for that email address. it only shows the one in the edit mode...

Weird.  I verified it myself in a contact with 3 mail addresses.  I could delete all 3, so the primary one could be removed as well.

Well ... you can always delete and re-enter the contact on the Desire, this time with the correct info.  If it's just one contact, it shouldn't be that much work.

Ok I think I figured out what is going on!  Took your advise, deleted the profile and redid it on Outlook, synced with my Desire and all is good..so far...then when I linked the FB profile it added the unwanted/old email address and made it primary. Just to test things, I unlinked the profile and sure enough that email address is gone. So my son needs to update his FB profile with the correct info.

So you can't delete info synced over from facebook ... nice to know that.  Thanks for the info.

Well, you could disable facebook syncing contact info to your phonebook (as suggested in your other topic) or indeed tell him to update his profile.

I did disable syncing the FB contacts to keep my pics and not use the FB pics, the email address is still there. So he will need to fix that on his end. Actually it looks like any of that contact information gets duplicated on the Desire, I now have dual phone numbers for him also.

After checking on his FB profile on the computer instead of the phone, yes that email address is listed!  Now my brain no longer hurts...for now!

I very often find duplicate contacts. I have long wondered how to solve this problem, and Scrubly Duplicate Remover came to my aid.  This really works well for me. This tool is really useful and indeed an effective one.
