Choose All programs.
Tap PDF Viewer.
Tap User_Manual_HTC_Desire_A.pdf
Tap MENU.
Tap Go to.
Enter 209 and tap  OK.
This opens the Index.
Turn the phone into landscape orientation.
Scroll through the Index.
Try and set aside an hour to slowly read through the pages.
When you see something you want to read, tap MENU and choose Go to.
Enter the page number you want and tap OK.
This is a simple and basic introduction for new owners.
For those owners who are new to Android systems, this is a great help to get you started with your Desire.

Always good to start at the basics! For those who find it tedious reading a manual on the phone, the full user manual in PDF format is downloadable from the HTC website.

Thanks roshan.   Smiley I added the way to download in the How To Section on 2 June.  It's good that we have a couple of links to direct members to the HTC Desire Website. Cool

I have been using one called Vlingo voice and it has been very easy to use and will do text messages as well as smart read your mail. my Desire came with Cyberon and was a joke lol. I might try this one out as well but if anyone has trouble then Vlingo is another great app..

I have a Desire HD.  The supplied app is Adobe Reader.  Click that and open manual.  Looks good, but Menu butoon does not have "go to" option.  There is NO way to navigate around all 226 pages with this app.  Tried all ways to open up some kind of navigate tool.  Nothing!  All you can do is swipe to page through to the end.  No doubt someone will tell me there is an answer?  Download another app maybe?

I have a new Desire and this is my first Android phone. I don't know how multitask works so please help. How can I run more apps together, how can i switch between them and stop them. If I push home button for longer time, recent apps appears but it's not the same than running apps, isn't is? Or is it? If I open something (for ex. internet) and push back button, it will exit from the apps? Or it will run in the background?
I install just a few, 3-4 apps from the market, but the free space is about 80-90 MB. I think it's not too much (Don't have any photos or music on the phone yet)
And one more question: what is "force stop" in the applicatiion management menu? Is it about stop running an apps?
Thanks!!!!
