This I found on the Net so it's not my wisdom but nevertheless it can help you.

To set your own music file as alarm sound, use the micro USB cable to connect the phone to a USB port on your computer. The Connect to PC dialog box displays and prompts you to choose Disk drive > Done. Your phone’s SD card is then mounted as a drive on your computer.

On your PC, in your SD Card, please create a folder named "alarms" then put the music files in this folder.

The Alarm clock will automatically search this folder for personalized alarm tones.

have fun and good luck.

It may not have been your wisdom but i was your thought fullness.

It does allow different sounds in the clock but not the calender. I can live with the calender but the clock need something with more ommf to wake me, I now have Bade to the Bone as a wake up call.

thanks again

for the calendar, that uses your regular notifications.  So create the following folder on the SD card and put your sounds in there : media/audio/notifications .  Might as well make media/audio/ringtones for your custom ringtones as well.
