Hi all from south coast UK. I'm new to the Smart Phone/Android/Desire.

After years of using a basic Nokia work phone for personal calls, I decided this Xmas to treat myself to an upgrade to the 21st Century!

I read online that the Desire was the best smartphone on the UK market for 2010, but when i came to order it online I saw the HD version and thought it must be better - bigger screen, HD video, Android 2.2 etc. However, when i got it I found it too big to use, didn't like the feel of it in-hand or the lack of 'real' buttons, so i sent it back and got the Desire instead. I've had it a week now and think its not only beautiful to look at and handle, its a breeze to learn to use, plus it has Android 2.2 installed instead of the advertised 2.1. Even the salesman in BestBuy said he wouldn't 'trade-up' his own Desire to have the HD version.

I'm now interested in learning more about these Apps, especially one to monitor my data usage.

Cheers for now,
Gweev

Hello and welcome. You should have asked X for an exchange. He was looking to sell his extra Desire for a HD Smiley

Anyway, the app you are looking for is called 3G watchdog.

Hi Gweev, welcome.

I'm indeed still looking for a way to swap one of my Desires to an HD without losing ridiculous amounts of money.
I still would keep my other Desire as my main phone tho.  The HD would be a mere plaything as it is simply too big for regular use.

Thanks for the welcome guys. I've found that 3G Watchdog now thanks to searching on this forum. I've also downloaded AndExplorer to organise all my photos off my old phone, but found that the Desire's standard Gallery app puts them all into albums on the same level, i.e. no sub-folders. I guess I have to find a gallery app as well.

if you want different photos in different folders, create new folders directly on the SD card and they'll appear in the gallery in that other folder named, let's say, "contact images". Smiley
