Looks like I have found the right forum. I am neutral with phones.

I also faced similar issue. Am a developer and only need the basic functions.

I don't want to install any apps to take away my power.

What happened to me was the metal frame on Desive V popped out after 6 months which is within warranty. The service person said, you need to pay a whopping $200 to fix it. Cry

I guess I am moving to samsung and won't recommend HTC. They are bleeding and we the customer don't need such a lousy service. If you fixed it, I may have asked more people to buy HTC. Weak marketing I guess.

It's still worth buying if you want a mid-class device imo. I used HTC Desire for two years and now switched to HTC One, can't say i regretted my decision for choosing Desire Smiley
