Bottom menu bar theme?

Hi everyone, I am kinda new to the whole modding thing, but I have seen some things that I would like to try.

I am currently running the Cyanogen Mod RC2 on a cdma Desire. The default app/menu bar has space for 3 icons on it, but I have seen different people with 5 different options down there. I couldn't find anything about how to do it, but I am still looking, BUT if anyone has a how-to they would like to share, I know that I would be very excited give it a try, and I'm sure there are others tat would like to try it too.

Since I am new to the modding scene, if there would be possible not only just a do this, then this, then this, ect. but more of a why things happen it would be amazing to help me learn.

Hi Jeff, welcome.

TBH there isn't that much of a modding community here. Come to think of it, we do have everything we need to make our own custom ROMs which would make the default one look (and feel) as dated as Windows 3.11, but that knowledge and skill is spread out over a group of people. That group simply hasn't put their heads together yet.

Yes, the app is called Launcher Pro. It's a homescreen replacement.
