Hi There.  Got my phone 5 days ago, so still learing.  I find the ringer volume quite low?  is there any widget out there or a tip/trick to make the volume and message sound louder?

I don't think theres a way to increase the volume, maybe the next best thing is to get a ringtone that is quite piercing sound but without being offensive. I am a bit hard of hearing but the the txt alert and normal phone alert I can hear ok if the phone is in other room. two that I use I got from here txt alert http://www.zedge.net/ringtones/986693/ring-flute1-ringtone/ titled Ring-flute1 and normal calls http://www.zedge.net/ringtones/355486/waterfall-ringtone/?pos=3&search=waterfall titled Waterfall. might not be to your taste but picking the right ringtone might help in hearing it better.

I found one ringtone in an app catalogue, which is a real screecher.  It is a high pitched sound like the ones used to deter cats and dogs from your garden.  I couldn't take it for long because it was so intrusive, as going right through my brain.  If I could get a personal alarm with the same noise, I'd buy it.  I'll have a trawl and try and find it for you. Shocked

Hi All

I have a similar problem with having hearing aids so I had to get something that had a distinctive sound, so I use the Sonar sound for my for my text and e-mail notifications it works really well for me. You can get them here, http://www.zedge.net/ringtones/3765/htc-desire-ringtones/0-0-1-sonar%20ping/?searchphr=sonar%20ping&searchcat=ringtones&sug-search=1

Keep in mind that the phone has a "Quiet ring on pickup" feature.  When the G-sensor detects movement, it'll assume you have the phone in your hand and reduce the volume a fair bit.

To make sure it's off :

Settings -> Sound -> check if "Quiet ring on pickup" is selected.  If so, de-select it.

As for my personal ringtone, I use a remix of "The Imperial March" from the Star Wars movies.  That's quite distinctive, so it attracts attention even if it isn't loud or intrusive.

HI  I have the opening bars of the Emperor - Beethoven's Piano Concerto #5 - taken off my itunes system on my computer, but it is too low, and hard to hear.  Any suggestions as to how to boof it up about 5 times??

You'll need to edit the file itself to make it louder... I use Nero Wave Editor, simply because it comes with Nero. Audacity is a good open source alternative, though

Audacity (multi-platform) and WavePad (Windows) are both good sound editors and will let you pumped up the volume of ringtones you create.  The free version of Wavepad does everything I need to make ringtones.
