Every time I change my wallpaper the setting seems to zeem into the middle of the wallpaper and select this as my wallpaper for some reason.  Has anyone else experienced this?  I just want to make a fullscreen pic a fullscreen wallpaper.

If I understand you correctly you want to make a pic a wallpaper but not loomed in. I tried and got the same thing you talk about. My guess is do find out what size (dimensions) the wallpapers are and make your pic the same size. I'll look into it and get back to you.

Also, just in case you didn't notice, the wallpaper appears more zoomed because it's covering 7 home screens.  you scroll across the image when you change screens.

The wallpapers should be 960 pixels wide by 800 pixels high.

What you're referring to is the green box you see when trying to select a picture as wallpaper, right?  That doesn't cover the whole picture indeed, but if you put your finger on the very side of it, it'll change slightly to indicate that it can be enlarged/shrunk.

Just enlarge it as much as you can and enjoy the new wallpaper.  Grin

I have the same problem that I think the OP was describing. I have selected the whole of my 960x800-proportionate image so that the green box is on the sides of the screen, but it still only shows the top eighth or so as the final wallpaper as if I had drawn my rectangle at the top right and not stretched it over the whole image. Anyone any thoughts?

In that case it's clearly an error of some kind.  I'd try a factory reset or having the shop look at the issue.

Does it have the same problem with default (and live) wallpapers too?

Sorry for the long delay in replying, could have sworn I'd ticked 'Notify me...'

Anyway, it doesn't happen with live or comes-with wallpapers -- only jpgs and pngs that I have downloaded. Come to think of it, I don't think it happens with photos taken using the phone's camera either. Will have to get it looked at I guess...

No worries, my memory is slightly longer than a goldfish's, so I vaguely remember this topic.  Grin
Did you tick it this time?   Guess I'll keep an eye on it myself and PM you if I see no reply soon.   Wink

Yeah, I'd have it looked at.  Or if you want I can mail you some of the wallpapers I made for the Desire (not that I made many, 2 or 3 suffice for me).  I know form experience that they work perfectly fine on mine.  If they don't work on yours, there definitely is something wrong.

Ok. This is getting really annoying now. Why can we not resize any image to use as our wallpaper at full screen? I have images that are higher than wider, but trying to resize them with the resizing box does not work, it will only resize a portion of the image.

It seems that images are constrained defaultly to 'wider' rather than 'higher' perspective, which is pretty much limiting. There has to be a way around this. Any image that is less than 960 x 800 pixels should automatically default to full screen use in the correct orientation. Only images larger than the pixel limit should need resizing down, or the green resizing box should resize independently along any axis. That is to say, each border line on the green square resizing box, should independently resize in both horizontal and vertical axes, regardless of whether the horizontal (ie, width) hits its limit before the vertical axis line.

Even manipulating the image in photoshop does not give a work around. Is there an update that solves this problem?
