Today i bought a new pair of headphones to listen to music on my htc desire HD, but i found to my dismay, that while i was listening to some tracks, my phone would continuously skip, stop, and start through songs, as well as randomly attempting to voice dial.
After assessing the situation, i noticed that when i first plugged my headphones in, i had no issues, but when i rotated my headphone jack in the socket, my troubles began. firstly, the headphone icon (on the menu bar at the top of the screen) changed from recognising my headphones as headphones, to recognising them as a headset (i.e. headphones with a microphone and audio controls) as the headphone icon changed to include a mouthpiece. If i rotated the jack to a certain angle, my phone attempted a voice dial.
i assume the problem is associated with connection between the jack and socket. does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this problem?
Thanks in advance
