Help me! I was using my phone in the morning when all of a sudden it turned off and when it started again was locked on the Hboot screen! I can't seem to select anything as when i press any buttons nothing happens. I took the battery out and tried to start the phone again but its still comes up on the same screen and i cant select anythings.

Did you press the "Lower Volume" button on the left side of the phone? Maybe it's stuck, coz that's the only way it'll go into HBOOT. Failing that, navigate to recovery and do a Factory Reset. But you'll lose any and all data not in the SD card. So be careful about the factory reset. I'm not sure how to run backup from command line. You'll need to go to the XDA forums for that

Mine did that the other day after installing some locking apps (Lock 2.0 or other). Luckily I did the 'SDK' trick to force apps to install to SD, so removed the SD, got it to boot, then UNINSTALLED even though the SD was not present.  Reinserted the SD and it fired right up!

I assume from the OP's silence that either:

A. He's dead
B. His phone is dead and he returned it for an iPhone 4
C. He solved the problem
D. He's dead

Anyone has a clue? I am curious about his predicament...

Hmm... www.Lingosbox.com does not utilize any conventional consumer protection technology/system. Buyers beware!
