I've had my Desire for about 10 months now. It's been fine so far but for some reason, I can type one letter before the whole phone freezes. And then when I do get back to the home screen the phone won't register my touch or command. I've tried rebooting but no luck, it's the same story when I go back onto the messages. The keyboard on the browser is fine; I can type in that. But the one on the text messages keeps freezing. Does anyone know what to do? Thank you.

Possibly your custom dictionary is corrupted.
Try going to:
menu, Settings, Language & keyboard, Touch Input, Text input

and turning off all the "Prediction", "Spell correction", and "Word completion" options,
and see if that makes the problem go away.

back at menu, Settings, Language & keyboard, Touch Input
the last option is "User Dictionary". Have a look in there and see if all the words look ok.
