Hi people! Hope someone can give me some advice. My Desire keeps getting stuck in a bootloop - keeps showing the htc logo then the 3 network logo in an endless loop. Power button is unresponsive and the only way to stop it bootlooping is removing the battery.
I know almost nothing about Android, but i've managed to figure out what's causing it - when i tried Recovery, an error message appeared saying it couldn't do recovery cos there's
no space left! I was watching a youtube vid in Opera browser immediately before this happened, and a dialog box kept appearing saying something had to force close (can't remember what it was but the word 'acore' was in it!). So i'm guessing the Opera cache has taken up all the remaining space or something? Thing is though, i put Opera on the sd card so maybe that isn't the cause?
Anyway, what i want to know is this - is there a way i can avoid having to do a factory reset and losing all the data in the phone memory? Is there any way i can delete a few files to free up some space? Phone isn't rooted btw.
Thanks in advance - any help much appreciated!
Edit: Well i had to do the factory reset, apparently it was the only way. Lost everything on phone
This is a major flaw IMO. It should keep a minimum amount of storage free to prevent this from happening. Apps shouldn't be able to use up ALL the free space so the damn thing can't boot without a total reset! Ah well, i'll take more care next time the 'Low on space' warning pops up, as i'm sure it will! Apologies for whining lol
