Any suggestions?  My mate saved a link on my phone regarding something like the top 4 recommendations (first one was the one with the full equaliser), but I lost that shortcut.  Sad

erm......downloaded PowerAmp but it also does not seem to play .wma files - am I missing something?  Undecided

Yes. Broken WMA file. PowerAmp includes WMA as supported. I can't tell because my music is MP3 all the way. Send over the file? Upload to GDocs for preference.

The files seem to be fine as I can play them no probs on Windows Media Player.  Weird thing is that when I can see the files files have transfered onto my phone in Library, but they don't appear when I try to play the music. 

Case in point - my main issue is with Disturbed albums. I have 5 on my WMP that I transfered to my phone, but when I got to play them on my phone, only 3 show up (the MP3 ones) - I checked the other two and they're .wma.  Yes torrents are a pain sometimes for noob's like me.  I deleted all the Disturbed music from my phone and reinstalled it.  I restarted my phone.  Nil change.

Is there something in settings of PowerAmp that I need to activate to read .wma or should it be automatic?

Should be auto. Try using a wma to MP3 converter. Another issue is that the wma could have been loaded with something by the uploader.

ahhh that makes sense.  Well I took your advice (didn't know I needed to search for an external program - my pc knowledge ended with Windows 95 lol).  I downloaded NCH software program and it seems to be doing the trick.  Fingers crossed it'll solve the problem.  That's the trouble with hubby living 1000km away - bloody inconvenient!  Roll Eyes
