hi there
i accidently spilt a cold drink on my htc desire,day after i dried it out none of my buttons work and safemode is printed on the bottom corner off my screen
any ideas how to remove it and would it be back to working order

Chances are big that something is broken or fried. 

Your best option is to try and backup any information that you need backed up and then to perform a factory reset.  If that doesn't do the trick, you're certainly having hardware problems and will be looking at a high repair bill.
