Hi guys,
Guess what, I have now got the ability to drag and drop when in helicopter (leap) view. I thought this was only possible on DHD and DZ but it is working perfectly on my rooted stock Froyo Desire. Strangely enough though the guy who developed the patch over at XDA forums (lambrospower is his tag) said that it would only work if Desire is deodexed. Mine is not deodexed but I thought I would try it out anyhow and it worked like a charm.
I love this feature as it means you can re-arrange your 7 homescreens very quickly and easily. To install it you need root. Then just put the patched zip file onto your SD card and boot the phone into recovery mode (ClockworkMod) and select restore zip file from SD card. Browse to the file and click on it and it will install. Reboot phone once done and that's it folks. Some words of caution though.......
IMPORTANT: Do a Nandroid backup before flashing the patch file. Also, if the phone hangs on bootup after running the patch, take out the battery, re-insert it and boot phone up and your good to go.
You will have to reconfigure your homescreens after reboot but that only took me a few minutes.
Just search in google for lambrospower rosie_patched_dragdrop.zip and download to PC. The google result should take you to a XDA developers page.
Simples :-)
Have also managed to get trackpad wake-up working perfectly which will save my power button (especially since the new protector covers up the power button making it hard to press).
Also, check out Lock screen widget version 1.1. This is a brilliant little app that puts an icon on your screen so that whenever you click the icon (once) the screen goes into lock mode instantly just as if you had pressed the power button. Again, saves me from pressing the power button to sleep.
