Hi, newbie here, have a HTC Desire for the last 14+ months, Bill Pay with O2 branded. Android Version 2.2. Build 2.14.207.3 CL274424. Software 2.14.207.3 My phone notified me of a System Software Update called : System Enhancement 20.01MB. I download it without a problem. The I attempt to install it and it appears to install normally...the phone shuts down and restarts, a progress bar appears and then it starts progressing green and stops about 1/5 the way and a picture of the phone appears on a black screen with a red tringle and red exclamation mark over it. The phone stays like this in a frozen state. Having done some searching on google, i then hold down the volume up key and the power button adn get a menu screen. There are 4 options, 1. Reboot the system (when I do this it brings me back to the old state - pre trying to install the update). 2. Apply sdcard:update.zip (when I choose this option - it attemps to install and fails) 3. Wipe date/factory reset (I also did this option and then downloaded the update again and tried installing it but again the exact same result) 4. Wipe cache partition (I have not used this option).
Under the 4 menu items it gives details of the failed attempted installation as follows:

When I choose option 2 "Apply sdcard:update.zip" I get the following text:

E: failed to open /sdcard/update.zip (No such file or directory)
E: Signature verification failed
Installation aborted
I am a novice user, so if you have any idea what is going on as to why I cannot install the update and a step by step (novice language) fix i would really appreciate it.
