WARNING - Several problems after update

"Will there be an update to this update?"

"In the real world" there are many problems with the new update!

Angry The update deleted configuration of Internet and MMS,

Angry it deleted configuration created through an app for Salesforce,

Angry there are problems sending SMS and MMS, I can't send nor receive, although I have installed Internet and MMS settings again - MMS still do not work,

Angry My Exchange setup is also missing, so I had to click in again, and after it can't using my exchange email as a primary - but a gmail is now configured as primary,

Angry I can still not get in touch with my wireless network at home, and it can not connect to other wireless networks,

Angry The apps that I had downloaded from the "market" - I can't not see more under downloads, and how do I delete them (if i one day want that?) when i not can see them,

Angry Several of the apps I've downloaded is now gone,

Angry And after the update it can nearly only live 12-18 hours on the battery, (Please not the phone/Battery is 10 days old....).

So I am not a happy HTC dude anymore...  Angry

* Will there comes a new update to the update?

* Can I come back to the old version, without I need to youse (again) 24 hours of typing all setup things in again?

Do someone know an answer on this?

It surprised me a lot - that a company like HTC can "post anything on the street" with so many errors, and which promises "high and holy"  Cheesy that nothing will happen, and nearly all things is not working or missing.

The HTC Desire is very new (was not locked from the phone company), from Denmark and worked fantastic the first 7 days - then this new update and nothing work.... SOS SOS MAYDAY MAYDAY

Short battery life right after the update is normal.  it'll improve in a few days.
Android is an intelligent OS, which constantly adjusts itself to how the phone is being used.  Since the phone now has been flashed to install the updated OS, it needs to figure everything out all over again.  I had the same problem after updating, but 3 days later it was already better than with 2.1

As for the other problems, several people had various issues, which I suspect are caused by settings for 2.1 which don't quite work with 2.2 .
I make the same suggestion to all of them : Make a backup of your contacts and all personal data, and do a factory reset.  So far only one person hadn't been able to sort the problems that way, and I'm suspecting that that person simply loaded the backup of his old settings, which ruined it again.  So don't do that, just set everything up from scratch.

Yes, you'll need to re-enter all contacts and passwords, and you'll need to download all your apps all over again.  It's a major inconvenience, but it's not the end of the world.

This isn't HTC's fault really.  I'm not sure if it's Google's fault either.  Many people don't have a problem at all.  In my case it was only the camera which simply wouldn't work anymore.  Everything else worked perfectly fine.
